Friendship Circle 2010 End of Year Update
The Ariella Weiss Friendship Circle is a program geared towards children with special needs, involving them in a full range of social activities.
One such program is Friends At Home. In a home setting, a trained and dedicated volunteer visits a child with special needs on a weekly basis. Special bonds are created as they engage in enjoyable activities and innovative crafts. Children’s lives are illuminated significantly as they await the visit of their friend. Parents use this opportunity to enjoy a weekly respite as their child basks in the friendship of their teen friend.
The beauty of The Ariella Weiss Friendship Circle is the interaction between the volunteers and the child with special needs. The love that these teenagers feel for their special friends is boundless and the impact they have on these children is endless. Volunteering at the Friendship Circle is a significant form of community service, and the teens take pride in being part of the circle of friendship.
